On completion of Grenelle of the environment, it was decided to move to 20% bio in canteens by 2020.
WWF-France is now, by launching the first national campaign for the introduction of products of biological agriculture in local school cafeterias. With the campaign "Yes to organic in my canteen , "WWF-France calls on all parents to take action on June 18 to convince the mayor to focus on their common products of organic agriculture in each canteen and school implement concrete measures to encourage farmers to switch from its territory to organic.
Organic is good for health because nutrient-rich but more importantly, free of GMOs , of pesticides and preservatives may be harmful to the body! The organic is good for the environment by favoring one mode of production that respects natural resources, soils and biodiversity. If it is local and seasonal, it is less energy consumed for its production and transport and therefore less greenhouse gas emissions for the planet!
Finally, the organic is good for the budget! In organic farmers receive a decent income, local organic production creates 20 to 30% more jobs and help save taxpayers the costs of decontamination and medical expenses arising from the use of pesticides .
